First time W123 owner
Not sure if this is the right place for this post. I'm going to purchase 1984 300 TD wagon from my buddy next week. I'm wondering if there's a few things I need to know or have in the car at all times, besides the basics.
I've worked as a technician for Honda / Acura for over 16 years. I have my 8 automobile ASE's. So I have the tools to do the repairs, I just don't know that much about diesels. I now started working at a GM dealership with my buddy who is selling the car. I've looked over and driven it. I trust him on him selling it to me. I understand that stuff breaks and it's an old car with 230k on it. I also found a site, |

I found a site **************.com that seems very helpful for repairs and service. Any beginner help would be appreciated! Thanks |
Welcome. Click on the words "Search This Forum" in the upper right hand portion of your screen, plug in your car and you should get a lot of threads about your wagon. I would search the Diesel Discussion section as opposed to Technical Help. Good luck with your purchase.

Being that you have good knowledge to start with, I would suggest checking the flex-discs as when they go it is not pretty. You may also want to check if the injector return lines are not weeping easy and cheap to change before you have a mess, and a spare primary fuel filter sitting in the trunk won't hurt. Good luck but be advised they are addictive.

Absolutely! Get familiar with the search function. You can spend hours digesting existing information pertinent to your question. Jm |
Welcome to the forum. Going forward, I think you'll find better response to W123 issues in Diesel Discussion. I'm told a lot of the diesel guys never look in Tech Help, since it's supposed to be oriented to the spark ignited vehicles.
