Brake Fluid Flush
I have a 2014 CLA-250 and I am approaching my first service B.
This requires, per the maintenance manual, a brake fluid flush. I have read a number of posts on how to use a power bleeder to perform the flush but I haven't seen a post specifically for my CLA-250. Is using a pressure bleed the correct and preferred method for flushing my brake fluid. If so, what pressure is needed and is there a preferred bleeder to use. I am also looking for a good service manual. Does anyone have a recommendation. |

I just bought the schwaben power bleeder and found it gar superior to the motive power bleeder.
Bleeding procedure should be easy with a PB.

Check the MB web site, they have some service manuals on CD / web based.
As for changing fluid, get a ~ 2 ft piece 3/16" black vacuum hose, put the hose on the bleeder and the other in a pan, open the bleeder, open the master cyl cap, you can change fluid by gravity. Sometimes you need to push the brake pedal an inch or so a few times with your hand to get things flowing. Or you can just wait for gravity to get things going. The hose in the pan is just to collect oil fluid so no need to do anything special on that end. You should see a slight change in fluid color when the new stuff gets to the caliper. |
