hotwiring AC compressor

My AC compressor is not kicking on, so I may have let too much gas leak out before recharging. Last time it was recharged was at least three plus years ago. In order to recharge the system I recall the compressor had to kick in to accept the gas.

Can anyone refresh my memory on how to hot wire the compressor so it will bypass the low pressure switch.

Thanks.

I read where a man with a w140 did it,and it shorted out something bad.

If it's got a two-pin low pressure switch just dis-connect both leads and jump them together.

Any chance you have a pic of the jump?

The switch will be on the receiver-drier.

Without the information of what car you are dealing with it is impossible to give you a location.

The low pressure switch normally will kick in when you charge and start the compressor. If you want to be sure then jump the switches at the recv/drier. You can jump both if you don't know which one is the low pressure. The high pressure switch just turn on the aux fan at slow speed. It does not matter.
