1987 300SDL the brake light switch is way up under the dash with electrical devices in the way. What is the best way to access? Through instrument panel? Through console panel? Thank you for your help.

If you need to be on your back working upwards from the floor, get a plastic camping ice chest and place it next to the open driver's door, place a blanket or padding on it, then lay your back on that - head inside the car under the dash.

Makes it a WHOLE lot easier to look up and work!
