W124 rebuilt transmission

I have a 1995 E320T in need of a rebuilt transmission. I was planning on pulling the trigger on a rebuilt unit from Sun Valley, but I came across a rebuilt one locally
The seller appears to be a AT rebuilder(maybe I'm assuming?) They list the part number as 722.3 6903803308, which I know is a 722.369, and what I would need for my car.
Curious if there are any specifics that I should ask the seller about what their rebuild process is, or to elaborate on what gaskets, seals, or other soft parts are replaced. They do indicate a rebuilt torque converter.

Thanks

Pelican member MAVA rebuilds MB trannies. I'd private message him for a list of questions.

It is really difficult to tell if someone has done the job properly or not. You can ask "all the right questions" such as which seal kit did you use or did you pressure test the valve body or which bearings (if any) did you replace but a smart cheat always has a fast answer.

Go see the workshop and meet the people. If the workshop is dirty and the people are a bunch of idiots walk away. Hydraulics should be rebuilt in a very clean environment.

Don't forget adjustment of the transmission is also really important. If you fit it yourself and adjust it yourself and "it still doesn't work right" then you need to be sure you've got the adjustment correct before you start thinking you've bought a dud

Ain't that the truth. I had my wife drop off the front driveshaft of my ML to get the u-joints replaced at a "transmission and driveline shop" when I was pressed for time at work. I had called and "of course they can do the job" (and yes, u-joint science has remained at about the same level it was since forever). They call me about an hour later and say they can't do it after all and I should come pick it up. When I get there, I was shocked that they were even called a business - looked like a junkyard out front with cars sitting so long the headlights were bleached white from the sun. Inside the place was "staffed" with some of the meanest looking thugs seen this side of a prison fence. They had hammered my ujoint caps on with some of the needle bearings fallen down, so I had to redo everything, but I was glad they didn't trash the shaft.
