Strange MAS behaviour

So I finally got my 1992 300E 4Matic to start but it does immediately after starting. I can hear my fuel pumps priming when I turn the key. I tried shorting out pins one and two on my MAS connector and the car stayed running because the fuel pumps didn't shut off but it ran kinda crappy because the MAS wasn't hooked up. Does this indicate a bad MAS? where does the MAS get its fuel pump on signal? which pin? from what relay or sensor? thanks.

Do you have the Diagnostic Trouble Code socket (see thread "1990 300CE Code reader help") like I have in both my 1990 300E and 1991 300SL?. A DTC reader tool is less than $20 on eBay comes with the code reader info on what the trouble codes mean- useless if you don't have the socket in you car.
