Need transmission advice....94..E320

Car has 140,000 miles I don't believe but the fluid was ever changed. Just the other day I was trying to start in first gear and it wouldn't go nowhere I felt like like the clutch was slipping. The car revs high but moved barely nowhere until 2nd gear kicked in, it happened almost all day then I let the car sit and it happened once on the way home but now for 2 days the issue has not returned do you think changing the fluid and transmission filter would be the way to go. Thank you for any help

I have also noticed a slight kick when when shifting into second gear not too major

Okay thank you I appreciate it looks like I'm going to try the fluid filter change anything I don't have any parts on the bottom of the pan. But like I said that she has an egg but I've had since that was just at one time work for the whole morning it just didn't wanna start off in the first one hour dry gas to just do nothing or move very slightly so thank you

Bru,

The next thing you can do is replace the B2 piston black bore seal which is hard and brittle is more than likely your problem, but most if not all shops will not do this kinda work.

Nulu,

These old transmissions are typically good for 100k to 150k as they just run hot. Reverse will delay as the reverse lip seal starts to tare, and eventually you get this roller coaster clunking sound. Then you loose reverse entirely...To fix reverse, one has open the transmission from the front, and some have gone in to fix reverse, yet the best solution in the future is put an external cooler on the transmission-heat kills all transmissions-A cooler will multiply the life of the transmission by a factor of 2 to 4 times.

Here is how to do the job...

picture 7 -the inside seal is the culprit

All the best,

Okay so here's the update so days after having no problems at all today take a drive on a major highway and I'm pulling on and it won't shift out of first so I pull to the side of the road shift it through the gears from park down to 2nd gear put put it back in drive and all is fine again.

I did notice some wire deterioration going down to the sensor on the transmission so I'm going to look into that, in the meantime I have the filter kit on order and I'm going to change the fluid and filter.

I also check the codes on the diagnostic module and came up with code 26 upshift delay. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Thank you for any help
