will the later model 380 sec fuel distributor work on the Mercedes 450 slc.

the FD is silver on the 380 sec and black on the 450 slc.

Your system is the 1st generation of K-Jet. The 380 has the 2nd generation; it has an O2 sensor, a control unit, and a "frequency valve", which constitute a feedback loop to control mixture. To use the FD from the 380 will require using the whole feedback system.
