1986 Mercedes 300SDL Size of the socket for manual sunroof operation?

Good afternoon all,

1. Does anyone know the size and type of socket that will operate the electric sunroof manually? (In the trunk)

2. While attempting to fix the sunroof, I broke the white knob off accidently. How do I repair it? What is its function? I also noticed the cable for the sunroof came out of the metal sleeve. When i attempt to open/ close the roof, I can hear the cable moving but not controlling the roof as it should..

Thanks

Ron

Can anyone help with the size socket to use on my sunroof? I need to get it closed manually.

Thanks

Ron

Thank you, is that to the right at the opening?

Attached you will find a picture of the sunroof cable manual operation area. Surrounded by the yellow circle is the part that broke off. What is the function of this jagged knob? I accidentally broke it and need to know how to repair it.

The area surrounded by the red circle, is the area where i placed the socket (17mm) and attempted to close the roof manually. I was not able to move it in either direction. Also I can not move the sunroof with the switch.

I assume it is because of the knob I broke?
