wheel scraping wheel well over over bumps?? Help

So I have been noticing going around corners too fast or corners to have the flight dipp in them cause my wheels scrape the wheel well. My shocks and feel good / normal bumps I'm wondering and can it still be the shocks causing that or is it the springs only.? Any help thank has 150,000 miles.

if this is about your W124 as in your signature then I can tell you what did that on my W124 E300D

my problem was a combination of worn struts and worn ball joints, the worn ball joints made the car sit lower and the struts didnt do anything in terms of keeping the car taut.

so my car would rub tires in the wheel well. Replacement of the said parts resolved all issues.

the bad part in your car is that you cannot change the ball joints by themselves like I could on my diesel one. Your car has ball joints integrated into the control arms, so you need to buy new complete arms - pricey.

You can test the joints by raising a wheel with the jack under the control arm so the spring doesnt load the joint, then use a pry bar or 2x4 or something similar to lift up the wheel. If you see it move or clunk, you just found your issue. If the joints are ok then inspect the strut bumpers, the prevent the strut bottoming out, you will need to look behind the black rubber accordion which covers the strut piston.

For my car, 150K miles, the coil springs were fatigued and allowed the car to compress lower than spec. Replaced them, along with new struts and shocks, and all is Mercedes smooth again.

Failed control arm bushings can also cause your issue.
