W124 e320 wagon rear wheel noise after suspension replacement
So I just installed the following on my 1994 wagon (230k).
Front: New tie rods, drag link, left side LCA, and idler arm bushing. Right LCA and steering shock are about 10k(m) older. Rear: all links (Lem's), trailing arm inner bush, ft and r subframe bush. - 15k(m) on the outer trailing arm bush, pads, roters, and e-brake shoes. Problems: 1. One of the inner trailing arm bushings rotates with the arm tightened (thanks machine shop). 2. The left rear wheel grinds. Very evident at speeds under 10mph. Intermittent over 30mph. Sounds like an e-brake shoe dragging and will remedy if I stop and firmly apply/release the e-brake but starts again fairly quickly. 3. I also was pretty aggressive with the backing plate but did bend it all back and shinned a light around to see if it was rubbing and it was not. 4. Finally It did not make this noise before replacing the list above. If anyone has experienced this and has a suggestions or solutions please let me know. I'd like to get it aligned to drive as it was a ton of work Last edited by donald.tyler; 01-15-2016 at 02:26 AM. |

Check the rear caliper bolts, if you were sold too long of bolts they will rub on disc via backing plate, happened to me once
