1994 E 320 neutral safety switch replace 2 months ago still acting up
So I've been having a problem especially when it's colder that I have to start the car in neutral, but sometimes that won't even work neutral or park I have to actually get under my car I loosen the clip of the switch tighten back up you know just Jimmy it a little bit. Then it's fine for a little bit but I don't get why a new switch would be failing so early, unless it's the wiring to the switch itself that is making matters worse when its cold. Any help would be appreciated thank you

Did you replace the shift linkage bushings at the same time?
|
No I did that after but it was already having those problems. By the way the bushing job without a lift or a bushing press is a pain in the rear I lost one bushing behind the exhaust pipe .had to order a new one took a week for $1 plastic part. My to order one extra $ 1

What brand switch did you get? Its common for cheap URO parts to fail. Its also possible that the shift rod needs adjustment.
|
I think Pelican charged me $18 for the two rubber bushings for my 81 300SD. Way overpriced.

I think it was uro actually. I aligned it properly in neutral matched up the holes. I'll look to see if there's a warranty on the uro switch I got from pelican I also got bushings from pelican cost me 1.50 I believe. ...thank you all

Pelican offers a variety usually and I buy a cording to customers rating. Thank you all I'm going to order a new one but got to hold off till it warms up to put it on. Just hope it keeps starting in neutral.
