Greetings all,
I'm just about to replace the front wheel bearings, discs, and pads on a 89 420sel, and I'd like to know what special tools are required besides a dial indicator. Also, where do I get a dial indicator with a magnetic base, and what should I be looking for when purchasing.
Thanks very much,

Beside the normal hand tools you will need bearing race installers. The dial indicator can be purchashed from any good tool source, even Sears can help. Make sure to use high Quality wheel bearing grease, be careful removing the old seal. The TEETH for the ABS SENSORS are easy to damage! Wear gloves & use spray Non-flamible brake cleaner.

Thanks very much for the reply M.B.DOC.
Where would I get bearing race installers?
Are they particular to Mercedes, or will any type work?

Bearing race installers are available from any tool truck and the basic kit will work for your Mercedes. You will also need a 5mm allen wrench and a 10mm allen wrench. The grease I recommend is Mercedes. I have seen it last much longer than the others for some reason. (I AM NOT A CHEMIST).
