does any one have any info about how to replace ball joint in 92 190e 2.6 thanks folks

Click on the top tab that is labeled search and type in what you are looking for. There are plenty of write ups and pictures on how to replace the ball joint on a w201. My suggestion is to just replace the whole control arm and that way you can get the LCA with the bushings and ball joint already pressed into place for you. Best to go with OEM brand for critical parts such as that. Welcome to the forum.

If you don't want to go to the expense of replacing the whole LCA which will require the use of the special Mercedes Spring clamping tool.

You can just buy the ball joints them selves.
There's a special tool that you can rent to remove and reinstall them.

Its not that bad to replace them IF you properly support the suspension and secure the spring. AND use the proper MB press tool. I did both on my W201 in about 3 hours never having done them before but I had the proper press tool.

Secure the spring! They can kill.

are you looking for a off the counter solution? or do you have some resources to build something from scrap.

the loaner tools from parts shops dont work as it is - the reaction cups dont fit due to the odd shape on the control arm boss where the joint is mounted.

You can either make a cheap tool like I did, or make an adapter for the parts store tool and use it.

I have seen a very caveman way too online - it involved hammering out the joint using a Thor sized hammer and using a small trolley jack to push a new joint in with careful tapping - It did work - but I would not advise it to someone as a first time DIY.
