Lower Control Arms

How do you know when your lower control arms go bad or one of them? Certain noise, clicks, clacks, turning, potholes, turning. Visual inspection what to look for. And what do they look like on a 93 S class.

My dealer said I needed them replaced, but that was what he said about my blower motor and it was the ignition switch not the motor.

I don't trust him anymore.

Many Thanks

The bushings come int he control arms, but I am sure can be replaced. Unless yours are bent, I would think if anything you need bushings.

I had to replace mine on my 92 300CE, because one got bent in an accident.

140's tend to devour caster bushings at a alarming rate.

These are the rearward bushings in the lower a-arms. They will cause the car to wander a bit, follow the grooves in roads, vibrate some and the feedback from small harsh bumps feels excessive.

These really are a simple replacement provided the car is not real rusty just be sure to have it followed by a good 4 wheel alignment.
