My 190E air cond blowers air intake flap did not closed properly and cause the outside air get into the car.
My mechanic need to remove the whole dash board panel inorder to service the blower. Is it true and how long it take to remove the dash board ? In case he need to open the blower, I am thinking to permenantly seal up the blower air intake and don;t worry of smelly air get into the car anymore. Any better solutions ? Thank you. |
The blower motor can be serviced from the outside of the car. The flaps on this model used a vacuum system diaphram. Check for leaks there.

You mean I can remove the whole blower
outside of the car ? well, that's great. I though the space available is too narrow to do that. Thanks [This message has been edited by altan (edited 04-06-99).] |
Gee... that is interesting (the blower can be serviced from outside the car). My 190E 2.6 has a noisey blower... like a "leaf" or loose "label" is ticking on the fan blade. Just haven't gotten around to yanking the blower yet.....
How about the A/C evaporator??? Is it accessible from the outside or do I have to rip the dash out? I have a 190E 2.3 that lost it's freon... the wife heard the hissing from inside the car. It's starting to get hot down here in Florida..... Regards, KM |
