My new filter looks diffrent .
The number i have is A 102 184 05 01
I have not yet changed it because i think i got the wrong model
from my shop.
I´m not sure but i think it should end with 01 01.
He also gave me a little ring with number N007603014106.
Original MB parts.

Iam looking at the Mann + Hummel parts book, they being Oem to MB.

The following filters are listed

w124 01/85 to 12/85 w719/13 engine m103.980

w124 6/85 to 8/92 w719/13 engine m103.983

w124 08/85 to 08/92 w719/13 engine m103.983 KAT 08/85 to 08/92

w124 09/86 to 06/93 w719/3 engine m103.985

w124 09/86 to 06/93 w719/13 engine m103.983

w124 09/88 to 08/92 hu727/1 engine m104.980

It can be seen that the 300e used two types of filters, I will post in a minute and give you the MB part numbers

Sorry about that, but had to do some converting from the Mann number to yours, and by the way, I will do another post, that will tell you the features, but as that is another

According to the Mann list, the filter 102 184 05 01 fits most of the 300E models, it equates to W719/13 on my previous list.

The other less populair application filter mann type HU727/1
relates to the following benz part numbers, your dealer can tell you which one is current.

104 180 01 09
104 184 02 25
104 184 04 25
104 184 08 25

I suspect the last part number will be the latest no,

Will come back again, and I will see if I have any features.

So you can now see, that for the 300e, there are two filters.

By the way a search will get you to the mann + hummel site
if you get stock

www.mann-filter.com

select the english version, unless you want to brush up on your German.

now 102 184 05 01 is a spin on filter which is easy to look at.

Also 104 184 08 25 is a replacable catridge.

It is 159.5 mm high or 6.28" high

Diameter is 62 mm or 2.45" across

Internal diameter is 22 mm or .87"

Internal diammeter of top seal 21mm or .83"

Also according to Mann, filter should come complete with o rings for filter.

Let me know if you are still in trouble, glad to help.

I have just noticed, you have concern because it is 05 01, instead of 01 01.

The first lot of 01, indicate intitual build.

05 indicates that it is on its forth revision, but should be fully interchangable.

I would not worry, as you may not be able to see the change.

Pelle,

I just went through the same issue. I thought I got the wrong filter as it was about half the length and a little smaller in diameter. The old ones were black and the new ones are blue. I actually returned it, as I bought it in a bundle with filters for all my other cars and thought it was an extra or something. When I went to change the oil on my 1988 300E, I couln't find the filter. So I went back to the dealer and found out the one I returned was the new filter. I put it on today and the thing fits, the seal seals and apparently the filter is doing its job. Maybe the oil that spills out when you change them will be less next time. Good Luck, Jim

Thanks for all the good answers.
I will use it.

It´s made by purflux a company from France.
Maybe it is a leftover from a Peugeot or something.
(just kidding)
