I am ready to come back to Mercedes. I had owned a 1973 450sl for 10 years. I sold it because I was tired of the manual top and plastic window. I had an affair with that car. I also owned (2) 1993 300ce Convertibles due to the loss of (1) in hurricane Sandy. I was quoted over $8000 dollars in top hydraulic repairs by Mercedes and $5000 by my indie with no guarantee on the used top motor versus a new top motor for an additional $3400. I caved and sold the car.
I miss the BENZ feel.
What advise can you folks offer as I try to take the plunge. I want the most reliable convertible you can advise me on. Thanks in advance

I would look for another W124 or a R107 if I was in the market for a drop top. I'm a sucker for the W124 and the R107 is one thats on my bucket list to own.

If you like red, I'd consider selling, but it won't be cheap.
