260E W124 hard to start and hesitates
I have an 88 260E. It fires right up cold, but if you have it running for a while and then cut it off and then try to start it a few minutes later, it is almost impossible. Also, it vibrates and the RPM's go low at stop lights sometimes and it hesitates starting off. What do I need to check? It has new plugs and wires.
Also, a little off the topic, but I ordered a shop maual CD of eBay. Good move or waste of money? Matt

Matt:
The CD purchase was a good move if you like to DIY. Also, this topic was discussed recently here ... I need your mechanical expertize. ... Seems like alot of 260's are suddenly having problems all at the same time. Hope this helps you find your problem. Good luck... ~Paul ____________________ '91 300E, 211K miles |

i have already read that thread, but his symptoms are different than mine. His was having trouble starting cold, whereas mine fires right up cold. Mine is hard to start after it has been running.
