91 560SEL driver's seat rear height adjustment gear
 

The rear height adjustment stopped working and found this gear that appears to be worn out. I can hear the motor and shaft turning but it sounds like the gear is not engaging properly and hence no seat height movement. Where can I find a replacement part and anyone knows the part number?

Probably have to buy a used seat and use guts from it to repair yours...I suggest the passenger side as it is used less often.

OR

Just lower the thing all the way and motor on. I have done that on a few cars as I do not need to raise the seats in mine at all or I would hit my head on the roof.

got the problem resolved. It turns out that the gearing got stuck somehow and could not reverse out of it. just wiggled it a bit and applied lub and now it works.
