126 steering gear box. HELP!!!!!!

Hi, everybody!
I have '84 380 SE with leaking gear box, I've got seal kit to reseal it and I thout is a easy job for a weekend .Took me few hours to take the gear box out of car, disassemble and......that is it !
In the ball circuit I found 23 balls and the service manual calls for 24 balls! I know I diden't loose any because I used a box to colect the balls. Can somebody help me with the answer for the right numbers ? Do I miss something ?
Any advice is appreciated!

It is very possible someone else performed this repair before you and lost one. Also, I have seen them come that way.

Thank you for the input !
Very possible. It is something to worry about ?What a missing ball can do, more free play, steering sticking, etc..?It is something that MB decided to take one ball out after they wrote the manual, for any reason, or I'm just dealing with a mistake ?
