1985 380sl
I am looking at a 1985 380SL. Original owner car, always garaged, 60K, no accident history or repaint.
QUESTION: Are there any shortcoming that have surfaced over the years on this car? I am aware the "climate control" is one (It works great now) and another is "no cup holders" on the console. Anything else I should look for? g/f |

Of course you should have the car inspected BY a quality MB shop for possible problems before purchase!!!

I agree with M.D. Doc. (I have an 83 SL.)
I have encountered few problems with mine. I have heard the same about the "climate control". I have not had a problem. Enjoy.

I believe 83-85 380 SL's came with the upgraded double row sprocket for the timing chain. The early 81-82's had a single sprocket, and were very problematic in skipping chain links, causing engine damage, you know valves hitting pistons.
I'd inspect just to make sure.
