95 E320 Wagon Turn light woes

Hi Folks,

The bulb warning light came on today as I was making a left hand turn. The rear driver side was not working and the front driver side signal was flashing very fast. I changed the rear bulb with a known good one and still does not work when engaged by the turn signal switch or the hazard switch. All lights are working for both the front and the back except for the rear driver side turn signal. I tested the rear driver side bulb holder to the passenger side and everything works. So, I know its not the bulb holder or the bulbs.

I checked the fuses and nothing is burned out. Is there a specific fuse or relay that I need to change or test? I'm stumped right now. Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Check the W9 ground point for continuity. It is under the left headlight. You can see if you get continuity between a good ground and the turn signal bulb connection with the brown wire. If not, then reseat the W9 connection. It can get a bit corroded and cause your problem. Good luck.

The ground point on W3 and W9 checks out. With the hazards on, I checked for voltage on the rear driver turn signal wire harness socket and I was registering zero volts. The other rear lights were registering 12V. So, I have zero voltage on that particular turn signal pin. Where does the other side of the rear tail light wire harness connect to? Possible bad fuse or relay?

The wagon left taillight has a connection (X/E3) just behind the spare tire.

There is also the lead coming out of the light failure monitoring module (rear of fuse box, position K) at pin 8 (gy/bk lead) on one of the two 10 pin plugs. I suggest trying to reseat the module or swap it out temporarily with a known good unit.

There is also a set of turn signal pins feeding the alarm module connection under the front passenger floor board on the 16 pin plug at # 2 and #3, but those are prior to the fuses and prior to the front-back light split within the failure monitoring module. It does not sound like that is an issue here.
