I am replacing my fuel pumps and I just ordered the Walbro fp from Pelican because it states that Walbro is an OEM supplier to MB. However, After doing several searches on Google, I see that Walbro is infact a high performance fp. Does anyone know what the fuel pressure should be for a 2.6 and will that change because of the fuel pump? Also, all the pictures that I see that look like the one I ordered states its something like 255 liters per hour whereas the Bosch I think comes out to 168 liters per hour. Any issue with this and has anyone ever used a Walbro pump?

I've not come across that pump before so can't speak of specifics. However as you have a loop system any unused fuel will just end up back in the tank.

The pressures will be in the FSM - you've got access to that via startek (even though EPC now has to be paid for by US users)

Ismalley, I have never heard of Walbro. To the best of my knowledge Bosch was the OEM for that fuel pump.

walbro was not the oe on that generation of cars. i think, you'll find with age, the walbro will not hold up. that's been my experience fixing cars for the past 20+ years. get bosch. good luck, chuck.

Story fwiw.

When I bought my 88 300CE in 2001, I took it to an MB dealer because idle was rough. They told me it was the fuel distributor. They switched out one from a "shop car" 190e 2.6. They told me it was the same part and that I'd need to replace the distributor at some point. Whatever.
15 years and 103,000 miles later, the same FD is in the car. So is the slight miss @ idle (600-650).

Question is: Is the fuel pump on the 190e M103 the same pump as the 300 M103? Probably easy to find a decent one off a 300E. There's a ton of them still on the road or in yards.

Part was purchased already. One of my pumps was dead.

Walbro is a brand that makes pumps for lots of cars and carburetors / pumps for lawn mowers. Walbro is somewhat of a generic term for a high flow pump they make.

Was the pump you ordered specifically listed for your car?

Walbro pump is installed and all is well. Seems to be running pretty smooth with no issues as of now.
