1994 E320 has check engine red light Code 6
1994 E320 has check engine red light. It is code 6. Cleared it once but it came back on. What do I need to do to correct the problem permanently?

Pete2, what is Code 6? I recently had a Check Engine light in our 1995 E320 and cleaned the EGR tube where it connects to the intake manifold. There is a clamp in front of the oil filter housing that needs to be loosened. Remove the sound encapsulation panel. Then working from under the engine, there are 2 bolts (10mm as I recall) that connect the tube to the intake manifold. Remove both and gently pull the tube out of the intake manifold. Clean any loose carbon build-up from the tube end and the intake manifold with a small screwdriver, etc. The tube on our E320 was very easy to clean ... the difficult job was removing the 2 bolts since they have restricted access.
