Hood cable seized
Hey my hood cable is sticking/seized, how can I replace it? Already have the part from the dealer and I'm currently opening the hood using pliers pulling on the hood cable from inside

I did mine on a w126,i had to break the grill to open. Its still not right but works.I'd really let a body shop fix it.

1989 190E, I can open the hood using pliers pulling on the cable, and I have the new cable from the dealer(not sure if right part number, parts counter said it has been superseded) I'm looking for the procedure on how to replace the cable.

Clark is right; that is the only way to do it. Very easy. You have it knocked because you can get your hood open. Just tape them together and pull the new cable through the firewall into the cabin.
