The passenger window switch is dead...a few people have mentioned how easy they are to fix on your own...that they just pop out.
Anyone with experience in this area. Comments on the "degree of difficulty"...Thanks!

This is an easy repair if infact it is the switch that is the problem.

I did this on my 90 300E and it was pretty easy. After taking off the panel, you should swap the faulty switch with the one from the driver's side to make sure the switch is the problem. I took my faulty switch apart and cleaned the contacts, but I wouldn't think a new one would cost very much.

Yes. A new power window switch is only $25 CDN. Besides, if your switch is really old, then the light is probably gone too...so it's better to get a new switch, IMHO.

What is the procedure for removing the switches from a 85 SL500 (Euro)? I have not seen it in the Manuals Library (CD ROM). An address on the CD would work. Thanks

Take out the ashtray and there are screws that can be seen.
