Getting parts for 230CE

Hi all, I am buying a gray market imported 1981 230CE and am trying to figure out how hard it will be to get parts for it.

Chassis and non-engine I imagine are interchangeable with other W123 coupes of same vintage, correct? Say like a US model 280CE from 1981.

Engine wise, I have read that except for the fuel injection system, the 102.980 engine is very similar to the 102.985 that is in a 190E-2.3. Is this accurate? Would I be able to use most of the parts for, say a 1985 190E-2.3? For example: timing chain?

I really love the car but I don't want to get in the position where it's impossible to get parts...

Thank you.

The CE coupe and the CD coupe are pretty much the same for body, interior, and suspension/brakes.

You'll be fine the chassis is the same as in w123 and the engine is the same as in the 84,85 190E if you need parts for the engine just say your car is a 84 190E I used to have a 84 230E and never had problems finding parts just make sure the engine is s 102 because the older models have a different engine

Great, thanks for the confirmation on all that!
