Mercedes Tools Set
I want to change my spark plugs, but I don't have the tools set that came with my car, i think my mechanic took it when I got a oil change.
How much does a tool set cost, or what other options do i have? I have a 87' 300e |
You might want to try a junk yard. Typically the tool kits are still in the trunk, often never used.
You can order it through your local dealer, the last time I checked they were about $85 if I recall correctly. |
I could be wrong on this, but i don't believe there are tools included which would help you change the spark plugs. Just enough to help change a tire. If there is anything beyond the lug wrench, it would be just a reversible blade screwdriver and maybe a pliers. It would have been rolled up in a dark red canvas bag.
Another option you have, if you feel the mechanic took it, is to ask for it back, but why a mechanic would be compelled to steal from his customer is beyond me. And if he did steal it, and gives it back, or at least admits to it, i'd find a different mechanic. What sort of mechanic would take the tool kit? What are you supposed to change the tire with, your teeth? Gilly |
True, he should buy the tools for changing the plugs, etc, but I would normally be happy with the knowledge I could at least change the tire with the factory toolkit. I'd be really mad at a tech who would take the tools if that's what happened.
