W124 Liftgate Support Shocks/Struts

Ok, I've spent a bit of fruitless searching for any guidance on the topic of replacing the lift gate support struts on my '95 wagon. Anyone here ever do it? Any link(s) to a how-to? This is not something I'm in dire need of but I think in time they will need to be replaced. I can tell that they are not quite as supportive as they once were so I'm extrapolating that in due time, I'll need to install fresh ones

If it's anything like the SUV's I've worked on, it's an easy job. Support the liftgate with a broom handle and the struts are just popped onto a ball joint.

Not sure but I think they differ in that mine are 'hidden' under the headliner and yours are completely exposed...

The 124 is one of the worst ones to replace the hatch struts on. No real tricks to it. IIRC you remove the pillar covers, the rear headliner piece, and then just fight them out and back in.

That's what I'm afraid of
