Hi Walter - are you able to post a picture of the wire(s) that you're referencing? May be easier to address if it was visible. Thanks!

ws:
If the ignition system has points in the distributor, the voltage in the trigger (green wire) circuit will be about .3V. If the system is breakerless, with a magnetic pulse generator (VR) in the distributor, the pulse will vary between .3 - 100V, as a function of the rotational speed of the distributor rotor. |

He wants to know what voltage he should see. ![]() Walter Senior - Your car likely has same engine as a 1983 380SL (116.962) MBUSA on their Startekinfo site has the full shop manuals. You might want to check out the section on the ignition system. Full Manual: https://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/11883/PROGRAM/83380sl.html This is from Section 15 (ignition): https://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/11883/PROGRAM/Engine/107/M116_38/15-562.pdf By the way - I know next to nothing about that system ![]() And sorry picture came out so large - just pasted link from Pelican How-to area.
