MB Cd-Changer deminsions

I am wondering if anyone could get me the schematics or dimensions of the CD changer bracket for a 96 C280. My dad would have access to the metal, wire welder etc. to build it so I can mount my Alpine S630 in the OEM spot. I got sounddomain.com to do a 105% price beat deal so the price is $173.30 after the discount. AW, dimensions or schematics would be great...I'd like to be able to put it in this weekend.

Thanks,
Brad

Are you talking about the 6 CD changer that mounts in the trunk?
If so once it is mounted it would be difficult to get exact dimensions.

Actually the bracket for the 6 disk Cd-Changer, not the changer itself. From what I understand there is a bracket that holds the changer, and then the bracket connects to the car. If I could get the demsions of it or a picture or something my Dad could build it with aluminum or whatever and pay the $10 for the metel instead of $50 for the bracket.

...your dad should be able to engineer/ construct an el-cheapo model simply by looking at the mounting space dimensions, cd player exterior dimensions, mounting locations, and wire/connector lengths.....no problemo- - its not rocket science

otherwise, you could probably source one from a MB boneyard for $10....or less if this is the price you want to pay....

another option is to stop by the dealer and take a look at some used MB on the lot....

even with the dimensions provided, he'd may still need to envision plans using step 1 above

The changer is held on by two bolts per side.

The bracket just needs to go form the bolt holes to the bottom fo the changer.

It shouldn't be that hard to do.

Hell I could probably make one using a small sheet of aluminim, bending it to the right length, and drilling a few holes.

As fad said its not that hard to do it based ont he location if you just look at it.

I mounted my changer under the rear parcel shelf in the trunk versus the right hand trunk pocket, as it saves much space used for storage.
