OK, I just found out that brake master cylinder rebuild kits are available from both Raybestos MK1919 and Beck Arnley. The price is around $80. Rebuilding keeps the original Mercedes Benz master cylinder on the car and I know what went into the rebuild. Has anyone had experience using either of these kits? Also, does anyone know if either of these kits are available from Pelican Parts?

Husky Man, if you definitely have a bad master cylinder I would buy a new ATE master cylinder online for around $130 instead of attempting to rebuild the existing unit.

Well.....I'm thinking it would be better to use the original Mercedes Benz Brake Master Cylinder and rebuild it rather than purchase one. Granted, either way would work but this way I keep the car original. I can pick up the rebuild kit for around $80 which saves me a core charge and around $50 over $130 for an ATE.

you may find the bore is pitted so bad, it won't rebuild. very common when brake fluid isn't changed every 2 years. the water it absorbs leaves rust behind. buy a new 1 and save time, not money. good luck, chuck.
