Engine swap- 1985 280E into a 108 chassis

I have a 280E engine that I pulled from a wrecked W123, and a friend wants me to put it in his older 280S (108 chassis). The 280S was carbureted, and the newer engine is fuel injected. I am a Diesel guy, so I am not sure how to go about hooking up the electrics and such. Taking out the old engine and putting in the new is no problem. I don't want to take on the project unless I am confident that I can get the systems working properly. Has anyone here done something like this? Do you know what is involved? How much of the E injection and ignition system will I need from the donor? Thanks in advance, Rich

Roller:

Take every bit of the fuel system from the donor, all the way from the tank exit forward.
The fuel supply piping will have to be upgraded for the pressures involved (90psi), and a sufficiently large return line will have to be provided.
If the donor has a KE-jet system, then that will require its computer and harness, and all the relays, and the O2 sensor. If it is a K-Lambda system, that is a bit simpler, in that there is less wiring.

Take the whole ignition system.

I took the entire wire harness out of the car before scrapping it. The problem is that I don't know what wires from the harness need to be taken out and used in it's new "host" chassis. How does one tell the difference between the two systems? I do know it has a fuel pump relay, as I repaired a solder joint in it years ago when the car was on the road. I kept none of the fuel supply piping, so that will need to be gotten from a donor car at a wrecking yard (probably any gas chassis will work- 116, 124,126 etc)?.

The easiest way is to install a carburetor on the engine you pulled from the wrecked w123 I think there is a carburetor version of that engine

If you will email me, I'll scan some diagrams that will help.
In retrospect, although KE was in use in 1985, it was not used with M110s. Yours is K-Lambda.
