Wx. ?

Is it supposed to still be raining ? .

I don't mind my 'Benz getting wet but I've only washed the engine (marathon working on it Thursday) so it's fairly grotty .

The last time I went, I washed it but no one seemed to care .

I like looking at the various other old cars that show up .

Two 300TD's showed up , two 300D's and my old POC too .

So many incredible cars to look at, mostly European, some Japanese, a few British and a couple Classic or Hot Rodded Americans too .

Don't miss this event .

Thank you for the kind words and for braving the less than desirable weather. We'll see you at the next one!

Post Weather Repor

Dmitry ;

If I was driving a Kia or Yugo, I'd worry about the weather ~

Part of why I drive and maintain a 34 year old Mercedes with over 413,000 miles on it is because I drive a LOT (800 miles every 7 days normally) so I need a car that's not phased by inclement weather, Desert storms, third world road conditions etc. etc. .

Those who work on and / or drive sportingly, old cars will tell you : old German cars do it the best .

Even my old VW's with tiny 1192 C.C. engines will whiz right along in gully washing down pours, albeit noisily and slowly .

Nate,

You're exactly the type of enthusiast we love having at our events - someone who drives their car for pure enjoyment rather than necessity. Stop by our booth at the next one, looking forward to meeting you.

Talking

Being a Journeyman Mechanic means I'm usually welcome wherever there are older vehicles .

I always go by the booth, you guys were busy handing out catalogs for modern cars and helping folks gobble up $tarbuck$ freebies .

This time several people came up to look at my beater .
