Drove 70 miles into the mountains to visit my son. No problems along the way, however when trying to leave to go get dinner the reverse was out. It was like having two park positions on the shifter. Drove home without further problems except there is no reverse.
Checked transmission fluid upon discovering the problem, it was at proper level, and along the way home as well as when arriving home (still okay). There is now some pooling of fluid under the vehicle, but no reverse. Any ideas where to start aside from a whole transmission rebuilding? |

When reverse is selected there is a band that is applied. This band only works in reverse, and has an external adjustment. I'll bet that this band is out of adjustment.
