wire harness good-luck warranty
'95 C280, 71K miles, non-starmarked, i'm the second owner. service experience care-of world wide motors, indianapolis. wire harness crapped-out took a module and an actuator with it. total bill ~$4000.
SPOM (MB factory rep.) official judgement: I get NO cost break what-so-ever. He says it is a judgement call and his to make. Says he can't control what other SPOMs might do, but he is not giving me a break. Oh, I forgot to tell you guys....before i told them that i wanted the part, the diagnostic conclusion was that mice had chewed on the harness!!!! After I drive the wheels off of this one, I AM CERTAINLY CHANGING BRANDS. |

cmahanna:
I feel for you. Today Honda just recalled some cars that have a 0.3% chance of ignition switch failure. I bet MB has a much higher failure rate than 0.3% on the wiring hardness and head gaskets. MB is simply arrogant and the only defense we customers have is not to buy MBs. All these "good will" stuffs are very discriminatory. |

FYI,
I think that goodwill thing only works when the car has been MB dealer serviced. At that time seems the dealer will even go to bat for you if you have been giving him your sales and service business Warren 1992 300SD Columbus Ohio |
