CD Changer cartridge
Can anyone tell me where I can get an extra 6 CD cartridge for the factory CD changer in my 95 S320? Do I have to get it from the dealer?
I don't know who made the changer in this model. I've seen people mention Alpine, Bose and others, but there is nothing other than Mercedes Benz on the head unit. I also find that the "1" button does not work reliably - you have to press it 20 or so times to get it to register once - if you are lucky. Wouldn't be a big deal other than the code you have to enter if you disconnect the battery has 2 "1"s in it....

...if you pop you Q over to Scott at the Audio Forum, he'll be able to help
if you have an alpine unit, Circuit City stocks a 2 pack of 6CD magazines for $29.99 and is a super deal, fits Alpine model S602 and others -fad Last edited by -fad; 05-23-2002 at 06:54 PM. |

CD Changer Cartridge
Go to Circuit City and look at the ones made by Alpine. I got a couple for my '97 E320 there.

I bought a pack of 2 from circuit city. Take
your cartridge with you to see if you can find a match. If your changer is made by Alpine you should find one. If you don't have a Circuit City near you then try Best Buy.

Alpine or Not
I would think that there is a tag somewhere on the CD changer which indicated the manufacturer.
I would also think you could take an existing cartridge, assuming you have one, to any shop which sells/installs car audio gear and they could identify the type for you. |
