ABS Hubs
 

After cleaning my abs hubs the abs then worked fine for a couple of weeks. Now its coming on again and I suspect that the hubs have acumulated more of what looks like iron fileings. Surely for it to get dirty again so soon isn't normal. Have I got somthing missing that keeps the hub clean?

The bigger/more relevant question is, where are the filings coming from? If you're stripping the wheel all the way down to the hub, spring for a "repair kit" and install new bearings. I just did this yesterday on my '92 500E, and the parts were less than $50 a side.

And if you bring the hubs into a shop to have them pressed in, it shouldn't take them more than 1/2 hr to do all the bearings:)

Thanks Michael, I think the clean will suffice for now. When i've got time I might take that one on. Thats if i've still got the thing. Nothing but work at the moment :(
