Transmission linkage busing to NSS - installation

Is there a tool available to install Bushing on transmission linkage connected to Neutral Safety Switch? The old bushing is just not there anymore. Any advise on how to install it in such a narrow space since the bushing is of very hard material. I plan to attempt to install the busing this weekend and would appreciate any advice.

You can soak the bushing in hot water for a minute, they will become soft and you can ease them in with your fingers.

or

cut the bushing at a right angle, insert the bushing into the eyelet hole and work your way around the hole to get the whole bushing in. The cut wont affect its working performance.

or

you can use a couple of sockets and a bolt to ease it in.

the cut and install is the easiest.

The key is to soak it in boiling water. Need to soften it up before trying to install. I could not prise it in with my fingers but seems like I used pliers and maybe a small metal plate over it to press it in.

The bushing won't snap straight in, you need to place it an an angle then work it around.

You could remove the NSS lever, push the bushing in, reinstall lever and calibrate the switch arm before tightening it.
