New BEHR radiator question
Just bought a new radiator from you (BEHR) for W126 300SD. Question: there's a white button like piece on the radiator grill...is it there for a reason (certainly my old car didn't have anything there). If its supposed to be removed, do you just pull it out. I appreciate a fast reply on this if possible as Im installing it this morning. I'm pretty sure its probably just put in for shipping purposes or something.
Thanks in advance.

Leave it alone - you could possibly damage the radiator fins if you try to remove it. I do not know what it is there for.

Yes, leave it there. Saw the same thing when I swapped out the units in my W124. The OEM unit still had it in place, so I left it alone.
Perhaps someone knows exactly why it's there? Or is this along the same lines as mattress tags?

Thanks for the reply guys...again, maybe somebody knows what its for
i went to start to pry it out....but then decided to leave it alone. If you don't know what you're doing......don't do it!

If you remove the button the whole radiator will come apart!

watch the fan shroud
1. Take extra care when pushing the fan shroud back in it could get caught on this button.
2. I remember when doing my 87 190E it was a yellow button at that time… 3. I think Ashman was right it was a date code thing. Thai GI sends…
