1999 Mercedes C 230 K

I have an electrical issue on my way to work I went through the edge of a puddle, then my 4ways hazard lights started blinking and later my window washers started spraying, without being turned on. I check all the fuses and they are OK. now I do not have hazard lights , directional signals windsshield wipers or washers. is this car possessed? what could be the issue can anyone help.

This car uses CAN BUS to communicate between systems. CAN is a 2 wire communication system invented by Bosch circa 1985. Rather than running wires all over the car, power and CAN are run to different modules.

Using power windows as an example, the switch you press is connected to a box, this box converts LF window down request to a message that is sent across the CAN. All modules are listening at all times, when the LF door module hears " LF window down" it reacts and powers the motor.

Somewhere you got water into a module / in a CAN bus wire junction and that is likely casing the fault.

I've seen cars with rusted floors allow water to enter under dash / kick panel areas causing issues.
