C240 4matic front left cv axle removal

This isn't my first rodeo but I am about out of ideas on getting this baby out. Did the right side a few weeks ago with no difficulty but I can't seem to pop this side off. It is a 2005 w/220K on the odo. I've searched for related issues to no avail. Any ideas would be most welcomed.

Jim

Can you be more specific as to what won't "pop off " ?

This video may give you some ideas. You just need to translate from the Canadian.

Couldn't get the inner hub off the splined shaft at the transfer case. I found a useful thread on this problem with a search under e-class. Fabricated a quick & easy 5lb "slap-hammer" and the hub popped off on the second hit.
But thank you for the replies......

Now that you have been more specific. I lightly preload one side of the inner joint then strike the other side with a hammer. The preload gives some pressure on the retaining ring / snap clip the the hammer hit jars it loose. Think of what you would do to remove a socket from a ratchet using a screw driver.

How did you attach it to the inner hub, with locking pliers like in the video?
