Proper Valve gap for adjustment
I have a 1983 380SL (Dble chain) and currently have 114,000 maintained miles on it. I have the CD but can't find the proper exhaust and intake gap in order to adjust the valves. In the past the dealer has performed the adjustment approx every 12,000 - 18,000 miles. I have adjusted valves on many vehicles over the years and plan on doing it on the 380SL and a 190E 2.6.
I have also seen a number of threads that reference special tools for the job, but the majority of the threads appear to be focused on the diesel engine. Any difference? Any advice and/or tips would be appreciated. Thank-you. Myron Becker |

Thanks for the reply
Thank-you. Are special tools required other than the angled wrenches?
