1985 500 SEC, Factory injection system has had the lambda system removed and the mixture re-adjusted. Car idles fantastic, runs wonderfully and is so pollution free that the required test facility for our area re-tested the car to confirm that the machine was working! Question is, is there some operational item that could damage my engine or system and when the car is restarted after 30 minutes to two hours it skips badly like a plug or plugs has loaded up with fuel. It clears out in approximately 10 seconds but can be very annoying. Otherwise the car starts wonderfully.

Fantastic forum and now we have a place to ask real questions and get REAL answers.
Keep up the great work, I'm sold.

Check your injection nozzles to see if they are made of steel or brass. A standard magnet will determine the metal. If they are steel they will need to be replaced unconditionally. They were updated to brass when MB found out that steel rusts very quickly because of the moisture in most fuels. If your injection nozzles are brass they still could be faulty from everyday corossion. The only other possibility that comes to mind is a faulty fuel accumulator that is located near the fuel pumps.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement.
