Check a different dealer. I got mine at the local dealer in SJ for 19 for the master and 21 for the vallet. They do require the registration and the VIN#. IT took about a week and they gave it to me in an envelope from the factory in The East coast I believe. Definitely not from Germany. I doubt they send keys via air mail from Germany!! especially for $20. The keys seem much tougher than those brass things from the hardware or drug store.

my 2 cents

I was charged $22 by my MB dealer. However, they get their parts the next day... which is why I ain't complaining. The guy remembers me that he even said "I know you'll come by so I took the parts out in the morning.. :p"

I did have to wait about a month for a foot rest!! Apprently it was imported from germany! Oh well, took a while but good to know that every single part I need for the car is still available.

If you guys are looking for just the black handle or fob part of the key. Then, you can get them at Perfomrance Products. I remember seeing one for like 3.50 or something like that. I gotta get a new one due to mine being ripped.
