Use the oil prescribed in the owners manual. I used too thick of oil in my 84 sec and the valves ticked until I put in the right weight mobil one.

8bender, if it were my vehicle I would use the following:
Brake pads: genuine MB brake pads
Oil filter: Hengst or Mann
Oil: Mobil 1 15W50
Fuel filter: Mahle or Mann

If you don't like cleaning brake dust off the front wheels, try Akebono Euro Ceramic pads.

You'll need wheel bearing grease when you replace the front rotors. The green MB stuff works well. IIRC a tube is a front axle's worth. And you might need a fresh set of park brake shoes when you replace the rear rotors.

Do you need complete transmission cooler lines or just the flex sections? Either way, check the rubber pads at the hard line clamps. When the rubber pads disintegrate, the clamps chafe the lines.
