What fluids are you guys using?
I am going to put the 99 s500 back together tomorrow and I need to replenish the fluids. So far I have the maxlife for the trans. But I also need power steering, coolant, and refrigerant oil. May as well add what oil you guys like to run also. Thanks.

the power steering uses regular cheapo ATF or may require a specific hydraulic fluid (its mentioned on the cap if thats the case)
The coolant that was factory used in these cars is Valvoline Zerex G-05, which is sold at Napa and Orielly or any ford dealer (ford premium gold) refrigeration oil is PAG46 and refrigerant charge is about 2.2 lbs

You can also get Zerex G-05 at Advance Auto, just did a flush on my 91' 300SE. Its like 19 bucks for a full strength bottle. I think at the dealer coolant is like 24$, you should be able to find a 10% discount coupon on your local dealer's website for parts/supplies too.
I used Shell ATF 134 for the trans, and my power steering fluid is the white bottle from febi.

Most of us use what is recommended in the Owner's Manual for our cars. You should do the same if you are unsure.

x2, the requirements vary depending on year and engine. There is no "one size fits all" answer here. I could tell you what I use in my '98 E300 turbodiesel, but it may not be correct for your S500.

C36: Mobil1 Synthetic oil, Maxlife ATF, Walmart ATF for PS, Valvoline synthetic gear oil, and dealer coolant. AC is whatever my buddy put in at his shop.
190: Brotella T6, Mobil1 ATF for 5 speed, Walmort ATF for PS, distilled water for coolant (track car), valvoline sythetic gear oil with some friction modifier, pentosin super dot4 (not the best on track and changing) and no AC 450SLC: Brotella T4 diesel oil because its about the only thing thick enough, Maxlife ATF, Walmart ATF for PS, Valvoline synthetic gear oil, green coolant(m117 is on its way out next year), and I haven't touched the AC. For fun my truck gets the cheapest Walmart oil and does not seem to care at 190,000 miles and counting.
