Need brake help on my 94 e320

I have a leak under my driver side wheel I took apart the wheel well and followed the 2 brake lines I followed it and found a Bosch cylinder looking thing. Says under pressure.

I removed the part and the brake lines leading to the coupler.

I've been running on rear brakes only for along time. No fronts
Because the reservoir can't be filled.

So I tried to plug the 2 brake lines that led to the cylinder hoping I could get front brakes back
Pumped the brakes and the line bursted open, so that doesn't work.

I'm not sure what that cylinder does but it's hard to find any info not even dealer knows. Can I plug the abs where the lines come from or will it damage abs unit.

You do not want to plug the abs because can't cycle it to bleed. I don't see how it would damage it though if you did find a way to bleed the plug.

I have no idea what that pressure cylinder it is but it seems to be part of the ABS like you are implying. If it were my car I'd just leave it alone, replace the rusty lines, and bleed it. I'll keep an eye on this and see if anyone knows what that cylinder is since I'd like to know myself. I've messed with the brakes on my 201 and 202 a fair bit and haven't seen anything like that.

I wish I could post a pic but won't let me on mobile...it's the cylinder that leaks but it's so hard to unscrew the brake lines from it so it stripped . I cut off the lines and removed the cylinder.

So now I need 2 new lines and this new mystery cylinder...probably costs more than my car is worth but ohh well

The sticker says, Compressed Gas, that makes it an accumulator. I'm guessing it smooths out ABS operation but don't quote me in that.

In any event, don't drive with just rear brakes. This is very dangerous as braking is less than 50 % of a properly operating car.

It's an ASR accumulator - http://www.ebay.com/itm/202021003918

Is there a similar device on the passenger side?

It's an accumulator for the (optional) ASR system. You need to replace the leaking accumulator, replace the brake lines you cut, and then pressure bleed the entire system including the SP port on the ASR pump to get all four brake calipers functioning properly again. Hopefully nothing else was messed up when attempting to drive without the accumulator in place.

See FSM job 42-0800, section F, for an explanation of the accumulator function:

Brake bleeding procedure is maintenance job 4280, section B, and MUST be done via pressure bleed (cannot pump the brake pedal):
