Kickdown Switch

Is this thing broken? When cruising at 35mph+ then punch it there is no kickdown. Even when I press hard when floored. Is my kickdown switch missing it's "top"?

It should click noticeably underfoot if it's working. If it is.. check it's working with a meter, and start checking connections.
